| The first morning they woke us about O'dark thirty, We saw natives in Huitoto who were polite and not dirty. They danced in the costumes made from their own cloth And wore necklaces strung with the toes of the sloth :( The chief and the medicine man were really quite wasted From coca plant leaves (the worst thing I've ever tasted!). The children were happy with trinkets and pens, The women wanted thread and needles to mend. (Continued on Page 4) |
