We boarded the ship and explored all her spaces,
Saw many old friends and several new faces.
Marcelita, our ship for the Amazon cruise,
Had three decks and hammocks in which we could snooze.
As we got underway, our excitement was clear
And our guides reassured us there was nothing to fear.
We passed little villages on our way down the river
Where natives bathed in the Amazon which made us all shiver!
The water was murky at best, you could say
But the natives drank it and washed in it, day after day.
The guides said they're used to all the bacteria and critters,
Just thinking what's in there gave us all jitters!
