McDougall South American Adventure 2001
On the following pages is a poem Helen wrote and some of the photos from our trip to South America in February 2001. We spent 10 days traveling down the Amazon River and 8 more days visiting other wonderful sites including Iguassu Falls and Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro.
We tried to keep the photos as large as possible so they would be easy to see. Consequently, they load very slowly but please be patient, they are worth the wait! If something on the page doesn't load, hit your refresh button and it should load.
To get rid of that annoying little Yahoo banner in the upper right hand corner, just click on the up arrow in its box, then the x and it will disapear.
All of the photos in section 1 were taken by Mel with his digital Nikon Coolpix 990. The photos in section 2 (under construction) were taken by Mel with a borrowed point and shoot 35 mm (our digital succumbed to the moisture at Iguassu Falls) or by another traveler in our group. We apologize for not giving due credit but the photos were all mixed together and we can't remember who took what.
If you would like printed copies of any of the photos, email us and we will be happy to print some for you on our HP printer. The digitals will reproduce better on our printer than the 35mms and we can make an 8" x 10" of one or we can print an 8" x 10" collage of several. Just note the page number, picture placement on the page and a brief description of the photo so we get the right one.
